JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Penn State Mont Alto seeks a part-time substitute Student Health Services Nurse (RN).

The PT Student Health Services Nurse will serve in the absence of the Campus Nurse. The student clinic hours are Monday thru Friday 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Job Duties

  • Perform assessments, examinations and treatments.
  • Provide accurate patient education, appropriate ordering and reporting of test results, and proper use of consultations.
  • Serve as a resource for internal and external customers, providing sound interpretation and application of professional standards of practice.
  • Adhere to policies, procedures, and protocols; establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with patients, clinicians, and other healthcare professionals to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Work independently, providing care and education per standing orders and/or protocol.
  • Responsible to the designated supervisor of assigned department for maintaining acceptable standards of nursing care and providing guidance to nursing services personnel and other patient care personnel.

Requirements and Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing (Associate’s Degree in Nursing).
  • Current Pennsylvania licensure, in good standing, as Registered Nurse with four years of related nursing experience that is applicable to the assigned work area.
  • Employment with the University for this opening will require the operation of a motor vehicle as a part of the job duties. A valid US driver’s license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.
