About the role

The Team:

Community Forensic Mental Health Services and the Defendant Health Liaison Service are Statewide Services based in Hobart, Launceston and the Northwest of the Tasmania. The team work with clients who have been both legally mandated into the service but can also be voluntarily referred into our care. The Community Forensic Mental Health Services (CFMHS) and Defendant Health Liaison Service (DHLS) are part of the wider Forensic Health Service, which encompasses Forensic Mental Health Services and Correctional Primary Health Services. All our services work closely together to focus on delivering excellence in healthcare to achieve improved outcomes for our consumers, our workforce, and the Tasmanian community.

The Role:

  • Effective and efficient management of human, physical and financial resources of the Community Forensic Mental Health Services (CFMHS) and Defendant Health Liaison Service (DHLS) as Statewide Services.
  • Ensure the provision of a high quality multidisciplinary Community Forensic Mental Health Services (CFMHS) to achieve service outcomes and consistency with National Mental Health Standards, Mental Health Act and other relevant legislation, standards and professional competencies.
  • Ensure the clinical governance framework of the Community Forensic Mental Health Services (CFMHS) and Defendant Health Liaison Service (DHLS) is supported and implemented, including working collaboratively with the Statewide Speciality Director - Forensic Health Services (FHS) to ensure statutory delegations and directions are adhered.

You will need 

  • Demonstrated high level knowledge and experience in Forensic Mental Health practice.
  • Proven high level experience in, and knowledge of, contemporary management practice in a health setting including management of human, physical and financial resources, change management, operational planning and strategic analysis.
  • Highly developed verbal and written communication skills, and proven high level interpersonal, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.

Details of appointment:

Fixed term, full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible for approximately 6 months.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $154,145 to $156,115 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No. 2 of 2022

Eligibility:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.

  • Satisfactory completion of an approved allied health professional tertiary qualification/program of study and registered with the relevant National Board or, in the case of self-regulated allied health professions, full membership/eligible for membership with the relevant professional association
