Position Highlights:

  • Position: Practice Operations Manager - Surgery - Days

  • Hourly Pay Range: $42.54 - $65.94. The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate’s expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

  • Location: Elmhurst, IL

  • Full Time: 40 hours / week

  • Office Hours:  Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM. NO ON CALL OR WEEKENDS.

What you will do:

  • Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of patients served. This includes knowledge of the physical and psychological needs of patients served and the ability to respond appropriately to those needs.

  • Manages and oversees personnel in assigned departments to ensure provision of effective, efficient, and safe patient care in accordance with established standards.

  • Oversees staff in planning and implementing delivery of care according to identified patient needs, and collaborates with the staff/providers in communicating and coordinating patient care. Monitors office productivity, including the assurance that all staff work to the top of their licenses, effectiveness, and output of each department.

  • Assists Service Line Director in developing goals and objectives, implementing and administering plans and programs to achieve goals, analyzing processes to identify improvement opportunities, and developing and revising policies and procedures required for smooth and efficient department operations.

  • Assists Service Line Director with developing and administering department operating and capital budgets necessary for attainment of agreed upon goals. Monitors adherence to the budget on a monthly basis, which includes investigating variances and recommending corrective action or explaining reason for variance.

  • Prepares, evaluates, and adjusts staffing levels to meet workload requirements in a cost effective manner. Develops standards of performance. Resolves employee relations issues.

  • Develops effective working relationships and partners with other leaders and administrative staff to create a seamless patient flow. Problem solves, communicates, and ensures consistency in patient flow to optimize the patient experience. Identifies, develops and implements new processes as needed.

  • Ensures compliance with governmental regulations, regulatory standards, and third party reimbursement requirements. Effectively monitors and communicates changes to management staff.

  • Participates in setting up programs in new locations.

  • Ensures compliance with all system established policies and procedures, including payroll, human resources, quality assurance, safety, environmental and infection control.

  • Ensures adherence to quality standards by developing, generating and analyzing key department metrics/scorecards. Recommends and models performance improvement strategies.

  • Shapes a culture of teamwork, positive morale and customer service demonstrated by excellent patient satisfaction and employee satisfaction scores.

  • Investigates, documents, and resolves complaints or incidents concerning patients, physicians

  • and staff, and notifies the director of those with sensitive nature.

  • Promotes growth and development of personnel through counseling, recognition and positive feedback.

  • Establishes and carries out procedures for appropriate delivery of patient care and monitoring of quality standards in compliance with Population Health, Regulatory, and Payer guidelines.

  • Assists in the creation and maintenance of an operationally efficient and physician friendly work environment in order to foster physician and staff engagement.

  • May be called upon to assume administrative coverage in the event of the Service Line Director’s absence.

  • Interviews, hires, orients, trains, develops, and evaluates the performances of and when necessary, disciplines and/or discharges department personnel. Provides direction, as necessary, to staff regarding sensitive and/or complex work, related problems, resolves complaints and responds to inquiries regarding department operations.

  • Bachelors Degree Business Administration/Management Required OR Bachelors Degree Health Administration Required
