The Clinical Research Nurse will perform clinical research activities under the general direction of the Clinical Research Supervisor/Operations Manager and a Principal Investigator (PI) while adhering to International Conference on Harmonization (ICH),Good Clinical Practice (GCP) Guidelines and institutional policies. S/he will perform tasks, including but not limited to site feasibility, preparation, patient screening and recruitment, patient enrollment, conducting study visits, completing and ensuring the quality of case report forms, maintaining source documents, and ensuring site quality. All clinical research activities must be conducted according to the appropriate federal and state regulations. Most important of all, the Clinical Research Nurse will ensure the safety and well-being of all study participants throughout all study activities. The Clinical Research Nurse role will include administrative responsibilities not limited to research education, oversight of onboarding those participating in research at DCH, and assistance in monitoring research compliance with all applicable regulations, guidelines and policies.Department Specific Job Details:
Education
- RN/BSN
- Graduation from an accredited program of nursing
Experience
- 3 years of clinical nursing experience required
- 5 years of clinical nursing experience with 2 years of clinical research experience preferred
Certifications
- RN Licensure in State of Ohio with a BSN Licensure within 3 years of hire
- Commitment to obtain clinical research certification within 3 years of hire
Skills/Competencies
- Working knowledge of PCs, word processing, excel and data management software
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Goal-oriented; self-directed, ability to function independently
- Good organization and interpersonal skills
- Ability to actively participate as a team player
- Ability to travel to Investigator Meetings and/or Trainings, when necessary
