Job Designation
The Accounting Supervisor leads the Accounting Team in achieving strategic objectives, while aligning tasks with company policies and procedures. Ensures the timely completion and accuracy of accounting transactions, and the compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and/or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
Job Core Responsibilities
• Ensure adherence to directed controls for all accounting transactions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory, payroll, revenue recognition, journal entries, account reconciliations, and other relevant key SOX controls
• Establishes, maintains and monitors department policies, procedures and performance standards to meet or exceed company financial objectives
• Supports, supervises, and drives month end close process to ensure accurate financial statements are reported and submitted timely
• Monitors accounts receivable and ensures staff resources are dedicated to following up with delinquent and/or high risk accounts; Manages the accounts collection process to ensure appropriate procedures are employed to maximize cash receipts
• Tracks and prepares periodic reports of department performance against objectives
• Coordinates work flow and assignments to maximize department efficiency and effectiveness
• Supervises and develops accounting personnel in order to meet departmental objectives
• Leads and directs work for team of employees as defined by business needs
• Manages staff selection, performance, development and training processes to ensure team competencies and capabilities to reach the business goals and expectations
• Other responsibilities as assigned
Job Specifications
Education: Bachelor degree required
Years' Experience: 7-10 years of experience
Skills:
- Experience in managing accounts payable/receivable and knowledge and understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and/or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
- SOX controls knowledge and experience required
- Ability to plan and direct accounting efforts to meet team targets
- Strong attention to detail, good organizational skills and the ability to prioritize with changing situations
- Capable of problem solving using analytical skills to interpret complex data/information
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to drive tasks to completion
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and database management tools
