Aurora hires people who want to build the future of transportation. We are searching for a Vehicle Reliability Technician to be located in Dallas-Fort Worth. In this role, you will work closely with our site reliability engineers, vehicle service technicians, and vehicle operators to support day shift, and periodically rotate to support the second shift of Vehicle Operations (5 PM - 2 AM CST). You will be responsible for troubleshooting, diagnosing, and tracking all issues the autonomous vehicle fleet encounters while in the field. 

In This Role You Will 

  • Provide technical support and root cause analysis for software and hardware issues across all Aurora Platforms. 
  • Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and operators to improve product performance, increase platform reliability, and maximize operational efficiency.
  • Perform sensor calibrations, platform upgrades and provisioning. 
  • Document deficiencies in an issue tracking system and identify trends in existing data sets.  

Required Qualifications

  • Ability to work second shift (Time 4 PM CST - 2:00 AM CST) and on weekends.
  • 5+ years of experience with the Linux Operating System in a technical environment. 
  • Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills. 
  • Previous experience in a data analytics role. 
  • Detail oriented self starter with strong desire to learn new skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate across different teams, offices, and time zones
  • Ability to wear different hats and quickly multitask 
  • Excellent documentation skills

Desired Qualifications

  • 5+ year Experience troubleshooting autonomous vehicle and electric vehicle issues
  • BS in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or related STEM field
  • Previous automotive or AV technical experience 
  • CompTIA A+ Certification 
  • Fault analysis experience
  • Deep understanding of computer networking systems
  • Programming skills (e.g Python, SQL)

The base hourly pay for this position is $37.50 - $48.75 per hour.  Aurora’s pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, the successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future. The successful candidate will also be eligible for an annual bonus, equity compensation, and benefits.
