Our group is involved in main-mission communication satellites, wideband links, command and telemetry, and terrestrial networks, along with their enabling technologies, are the domain of the Communication Technologies and Engineering Division (CTED). This division comprises all aspects, from architectures to implementation; our engineers work directly with corporate customers to ensure robust and resilient communications.

We are seeking to hire a Communications Engineer who will look to join and learn under our team of established, talented and dynamic engineers of the Communications and Signal Analysis Department (CSAD).  CSAD performs analysis, modeling and simulation of end-to-end radio and optical communication systems, and signal collection/processing techniques and solutions.  We also advise our customers on technical matters and advanced technology development needs.  The work we do is in support of advanced concept development/prototyping, system acquisition support and anomaly resolution, primarily for specialized satellite and associated ground processing applications.

Work Model: 100% onsite in Chantilly, VA.

What You’ll Be Doing 

Job Summary:

  • Performing analysis, modeling and simulation of radio and/or optical communication systems and related signal processing

  • Working on technical problems in the areas of communications, signals collection and remote sensing

  • Supporting customer communications, signal collection and/or emitter geolocation mission areas.

  • Supporting our Civil, DoD and intelligence community customers with primary support to the National Reconnaissance Office.

What You Need to be Successful - Member of Technical Staff

Minimum Requirements: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Microwave Photonics or related discipline

  • Minimum of 2-years of related industry work experience 

  • Demonstrate flexibility and ability to adapt to changing organizational needs 

  • Willing to travel domestically/internationally infrequently, as needed

  • For this specific position and U.S. Government program, the chosen candidate will need to be of U.S. Citizenship as they will need to have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance provisioned by the U.S. Government. 

How You Can Stand Out 

It would be impressive if you have one or more of these: 

  • Masters or Ph.D. degree from an accredited program in Electrical Engineering or Microwave Photonics

  • 3-or more years of experience supporting in SIGINT, Satellite, Radio and/or Optical Communications, or advanced signal processing techniques

  • Possess an active and current U.S. Government Security Clearance - Top Secret level.
