This position, based in Huntsville, AL, plays a vital role in supporting the U.S. President, Secretary of Defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels.

Position Overview:
The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program serves as the core element of the Missile Defense System. It is a vital operational system that enables the U.S. president, the secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels to systematically plan ballistic missile defense efforts, track the progress of battles, and actively manage networked sensors and weapon systems to achieve global and regional mission objectives.
C2BMC supports a layered missile defense capability that enables an optimal response to threats across all ranges and phases of flight. It acts as a force multiplier by connecting, integrating, and synchronizing autonomous sensor and weapon systems and operations both globally and regionally to improve performance. Moreover, C2BMC is a key part of all ground and flight tests that validate and test the current and future capabilities of the missile defense system.
This position is for a Software Engineer on the C2BMC program. The candidate will be responsible for software development in Java for one of the Regional Applications teams in Huntsville (Battle Management, System-Arch, or Track Server). With minimal supervision, will provide specialized expertise across multiple systems and software disciplines, as well as general knowledge of related fields, application impacts, and customer areas.
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for performing in-depth analysis and technical support of systems software products, including complex problem resolution, design, development, testing, operational integration, and user support
- Maintains currency, debugs, and configures related software products
- Works from specifications to develop or modify operating system applications
- Assists with design, coding, benchmark testing, debugging, and documentation of programs
- Interfaces with other system support groups to resolve problems, set standards, and improve the overall efficiency of the operating system
- Designs, codes, tests, and implements tools for operations automation
- Works on most phases of software systems programming applications and may require minor instruction and guidance in other phases
Basic Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline preferred from an accredited university and 5 years of related experience, or a Master's Degree and 3 years of related experience, or 1 years of related experience with a PhD. Or 9 years of related experience in lieu of a degree may be considered.
- Applicants must possess a current, active in-scope DoD-issued Secret security clearance at the time of application, which is required to start
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% of the time to support business needs.
- DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher (Security+ CE, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP, CCNA Security, etc.) is required to start
- Software engineering and development experience with strong Java/J2EE or other object-oriented programming skills
