About the role

Our mission: to eliminate every barrier to mental health.

At Spring Health, we’re on a mission to revolutionize mental healthcare by removing every barrier that prevents people from getting the help they need, when they need it. Our clinically validated technology, Precision Mental Healthcare, empowers us to deliver the right care at the right time—whether it’s therapy, coaching, medication, or beyond—tailored to each individual’s needs.

We proudly partner with over 450 companies, from startups to multinational Fortune 500 corporations, as a leading provider of mental health service, providing care for 10 million people. Our clients include brands you use and know like Microsoft, Target, and Delta Airlines, all of whom trust us to deliver best-in-class outcomes for their employees globally. With our innovative platform, we’ve been able to generate a net positive ROI for employers and we are the only company in our category to earn external validation of net savings for customers.

We have raised capital from prominent investors including Generation Investment, Kinnevik, Tiger Global, William K Warren Foundation, Northzone, RRE Ventures, and many more. Thanks to their partnership and our latest Series E Funding, our current valuation has reached $3.3 billion. We’re just getting started—join us on our journey to make mental healthcare accessible to everyone, everywhere.

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Engineering, we are looking for a remote Software Developer II to join our Caregiver Experience (CGX) organization. The team is responsible for the application used by all of Spring Health’s caregivers and is foundational to Spring Health. You will work with a team of engineers to build exciting new features for a best-in-class EHR.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Design and build systems to ensure that data can be efficiently shared among different applications
  • Expand the capabilities of our web front ends, built in React, and our API, built in Ruby on Rails
  • Improve data integrity, streamline operations, and optimize support workflows to drive efficiency and scalability
  • Build on the foundation of a well-tested codebase to ensure it remains robust and scalable as our business rapidly grows
  • Identify areas for growth and iteration on our application stack and advocate for them on the engineering roadmap
  • Participate in discussions that lead to decisions like “grow the monolith” or “break things up into microservices” (or some other great idea!).

What success looks like in this role:

  • Deliver projects on time, within scope, and with high stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Complete tasks independently, resolve issues before escalating, and track personal tasks accurately.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional partners and stakeholders to turn broad challenges into iterative solutions
  • Design and contribute to scalable architectures that support future growth and integrations
  • Support the team’s velocity through active collaboration, code reviews, and contributions to the team’s process and ways of working
  • Maintain high system uptime and low defect rates by writing thorough tests, implementing observability tooling, investigating and debugging issues, and participating in an on-call rotation
  • Provide and seek feedback and set personal growth goals to upskill that are aligned with the career ladder.

What we expect from you:

  • 2-4 years of professional development experience
  • Experience with Ruby on Rails
  • Experience with React and Typescript
  • Experience with asynchronous architecture design patterns
  • Comfortable working on a cross-functional agile team with a diverse set of stakeholders
  • Comfortable moving fast and working through ambiguity - we are a startup and are working on balancing the demands of business growth and platform reliability
  • Bonus points for experience with Salesforce
  • Bonus points for GraphQL API design experience

The target base salary range for this position is $120,000 - $150,250, and is part of a competitive total rewards package including stock options and benefits.
