UCLA Health is seeking to hire a full-time Staff Research Associate II to join the Orthopedic Surgery Department. You will conduct and evaluate scientific projects focused on genetic abnormalities affecting the skeleton for the Krakow Laboratory. Primary duties include:
- Perform histology studies, including immunostaining, microscopy, and tissue analysis
- Conduct PCR and western blot analyses
- Prepare buffer solutions, clean glassware, and perform lab maintenance tasks
- Perform cell culture and laboratory experiments related to genotyping mice
- Maintain mouse colonies and assist with tissue collection from mice
- Oversee data organization, management, and analysis from experiments
- Assist in maintaining and ordering lab supplies
- Perform additional laboratory and research duties as assigned
Job Qualifications

Experience in cell culture,, cloning, and/or microscopy
Familiarity with date analysis and statistical methods (preferred)
Proficiency in using and maintaining histological, confocal, and biochemical/cell culture equipment and imaging software
Experience with standard biochemical procedures
Strong understanding of technical terminology related to the musculoskeletal system
Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to create accurate, concise, and grammatically correct communication
Must pass UCLA exams for working with biohazards and animal subjects
Comfortable working with mice
