What are you going to do?

Lely is the global market leader in automated milking systems and produces a range of specialized, innovative robots to automate daily tasks on dairy farms, such as feeding and cleaning, improving the lives of both the cows and farmers.

The Lely organization is experiencing rapid growth. Our customers expect new products to meet at least the standards of our existing products, which have been developed over many years of service and experience. Furthermore, the growth of our company has led to an acceleration in product manufacturing, with optimal reliability being built in during production.

Our robotics solutions are developed within a multidisciplinary structure, where engineers from different disciplines, especially mechanical engineering, software, and electronics, collaborate within a project organization. The Lely Product Development team is organized in a matrix model, where Competence Centers ensure the availability of the required development competencies, tools, and supporting processes and Business Teams ensure focus on the product.

Team Lead Software Testing

We have a Competence Center for Integrated Testing & Verification that collaborates closely with various disciplines to create and execute tests, ensuring the quality of our products. We are currently seeking an experienced engineer to lead a group of software testers responsible for testing and verifying software, including its integration into our robotic systems.

In this role your task is to guide the process that ultimately leads to product releases. You will assist in testing the products, mentor the testers, and raise awareness about the importance of testable requirements and data-driven conclusions. You will determine the strategy for system verification and provide advice on the maturity of designs tested in different phases.

Moreover, you excel in interpersonal skills, and as a manager, you will lead a group of 7 to 14 junior, mid-level, and senior engineers. You will support them in both their technical and personal development. Within this role, you have the opportunity to engage intensively with both technology and people. Essential skills include maintaining an overview and identifying opportunities to bridge gaps during the development process.

Qualifications

• Graduated (BA or MSc) in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field. Alternatively, a substantial number of years of work experience that equates to a comparable level of knowledge and thinking.
• Several years of work experience in software testing.
• Several years of work experience in a leadership role.
• Broad technical perspective and a keen interest in robotics.
• Experience in mentoring a team.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to present your arguments persuasively.
• Fluent proficiency in both Dutch and English.
