The Business Relationship Manager (BRM) position will proactively serve as integral liaison between Mission Systems Portfolio leadership and the Program Work Environment (PWE) Value Stream to manage growing demand for secure, closed area PWEs and cross-site connectivity across our Mission Systems business. Reporting to the Program Work Environment Value Stream Leader (VSL) within Mission System Services, the ideal candidate will establish strong partnerships with portfolio senior leadership to ensure tight alignment with business strategy, effort prioritization, and PWE investment. Central to BRM responsibilities will be providing strategic oversight and assuming ownership & accountability to the successful execution of PWE projects for supported portfolios. Project scope may include (but not limited to) physical construction and furnishing of PWE spaces, installation of digital capabilities, and implementation of security compliance protocols.
Candidates can expect to be heavily involved in fast-paced, high-pressure efforts with visibility across varying senior levels of leadership. Being a highly motivated, self-starter who is comfortable driving execution with vague requirements and minimal direction is critical. Strong executive presence, an innate ability to lead cross-functional teams through influence, and a proven track record of delivering results in challenging conditions will be key traits that define a successful candidate for this role.
*This role is an onsite position based out of Richardson, TX but likely will require up to 40% travel.
What You Will Do
Establish, develop, and own internal customer relationships for all current and future portfolio efforts
Partner in developing long-term portfolio strategies aligned with Program Work Environment Value Stream strategic roadmaps
Maintain responsibility and accountability to deliver results against PWE projects supporting requirement tracking, planning, prioritization, execution, and sustainment of program work environments (PWE) for their assigned portfolios
Provide leadership and motivate project teams that are not in your direct reporting chain
Ability to work with Senior Leadership to ensure priorities aligned with overall strategy
Provide status reporting on Portfolio PWE health by establishing target conditions for improvement supported by measurable driver measures (KPIs)
Actively accountable for development and execution of overall PWE portfolio strategy
Exhibit leadership behaviors that support Operational Excellence, with a One Mission Systems and One Collins mindset
Identifying and implement Continuous Improvement ideas and methodology to help steer broader PWE Value stream strategy
Create and maintain an environment that encourages and supports change while maintaining compliance and protecting the business
Develop a culture of teamwork and accountability both within the PWE organization and with all the business interfaces
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 16 years of relevant experience
Active or Transferable U.S. government issued Secret Security Clearance is required prior to start date
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Extensive experience working with and presenting to senior leadership
Extensive experience working overall classified and unclassified strategy and connectivity development and execution
Ability to travel 40% of the time
Qualifications We Prefer
Prior experience in business relationship management, systems and project management, classified work environments, Manufacturing Environment buildouts, financial acumen, and operational efficiency with experience leading high-performing integrated project teams
Familiarly with the Mission Systems sites, programs, and business
