Description
The Office of Inpatient Management (OIM) Quality and Data Analyst plays an essential role in strengthening the quality, safety, and regulatory compliance of the Department of Mental Health’s inpatient system. This position sits at the intersection of data analytics, quality management, and system improvement—transforming complex datasets, performance indicators, audits, and survey results into clear, actionable insights for hospital and executive leadership. Duties and Responsibilities (these duties are a general summary and not all inclusive):
· Analyze and synthesize data from multiple sources—including clinical systems, surveys, incident reports, audits, and contract monitoring—to support informed decision-making across DMH inpatient facilities.
· Design, implement, and maintain quality management and performance improvement processes that support consistent, systemwide standards of care and compliance.
· Develop clear, accurate, and timely reports, dashboards, and visualizations using tools such as Tableau and Excel to communicate trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
· Conduct advanced data mining and trend analysis to identify patterns related to safety, clinical outcomes, regulatory compliance, and quality indicators.
· Provide analytic consultation and technical assistance to hospital leadership and facility quality management teams to strengthen performance improvement efforts.
· Collaborate with facility leadership and quality staff to ensure compliance with DMH regulations, Joint Commission standards, and CMS Conditions of Participation.
· Recommend system-level improvements, quality initiatives, and corrective actions based on data findings and performance trends.
· Support the development and delivery of training related to quality management, data analysis, and performance improvement methodologies.
