The Retail Regional Director is responsible for leading facilities operations across a defined region of retail branches. This role provides strategic and operational oversight for all workplace services, asset maintenance, engineering coordination, and capital planning within the region.The Retail Regional Director directly manages Senior Facilities Managers (SFMs) and partners closely with the Engineering Director and the engineering team to ensure consistent execution of maintenance strategies, system reliability, life-safety compliance, and operational excellence across the portfolio.
This position carries full accountability for regional service delivery, financial performance, contract compliance, regulatory adherence, and client relationship management while ensuring retail brand standards and customer experience expectations are consistently met.
Job Description
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Regional Leadership & Portfolio Oversight
- Lead and direct all facilities management activities across a regional portfolio of retail branches.
- Provide direct leadership, coaching, and performance management to Senior Facilities Managers.
- Establish clear performance expectations aligned with SLAs, KPIs, and client objectives.
- Ensure consistent execution of preventative maintenance programs, asset lifecycle strategies, and service standards.
- Drive alignment between retail operational needs and facilities delivery standards.
Engineering & Technical Partnership
- Work in close collaboration with the Engineering Director and the engineering team to ensure system reliability and technical excellence.
- Support mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, UPS, ATM, and critical system performance across the region.
- Support root cause analysis, reliability improvement plans, and engineering best practices.
- Partner on capital planning, infrastructure upgrades, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with all life safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.

Financial & Capital Management
- Own and support regional operating budgets, forecasting, and cost control initiatives.
- Develop and execute financial plans focused on cost optimization without compromising service quality.
- Oversee capital planning and lifecycle forecasting in coordination with engineering and project teams.
- Ensure accurate monthly financial reporting and adherence to management agreements.
- Minimize commercial risk through proactive financial oversight.
Service Delivery & Vendor Governance
- Ensure integration across service delivery streams, including facilities management, engineering services, and project execution.
- Monitor subcontractor performance and manage key vendor relationships.
- Drive SLA and KPI compliance with structured performance reviews and corrective action plans.
- Promote continuous improvement and operational efficiency across all sites.
- Standardize reporting and ensure accurate, timely portfolio performance metrics.
Client & Stakeholder Engagement
- Serve as senior regional point of contact for client leadership.
- Maintain strong, consultative relationships focused on strategic value and portfolio optimization.
- Communicate portfolio performance, risks, and opportunities during client meetings and monthly reviews.
- Identify opportunities to enhance service delivery and expand partnership value.
Talent Development & Organizational Leadership
- Ensure appropriate staffing structures across the region to balance coverage and performance needs.
- Recruit, develop, and mentor Senior Facilities Managers and regional teams.
