About the Role
The Sr. Director of Quality will be responsible for setting the strategic direction for all aspects of quality management and continuous improvement within the company's aerospace and defense operations.Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the company-wide Quality organization, including Quality Assurance, Quality Control, and Quality Systems.
Develop and refine quality strategies and quality management systems in alignment with the company's goals and customer requirements.
Ensure compliance with relevant aerospace and defense industry standards such as AS9100, and any applicable regulatory requirements (e.g., FAA, DOD, NASA regulations).
Drive a culture of quality and continuous improvement throughout the organization, promoting a proactive approach to quality issues and fostering employee engagement in quality-related processes.
Oversee supplier quality performance, including selection, evaluation, and auditing, to ensure alignment with company standards.
Work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and other cross-functional teams to maintain product integrity and resolve quality-related issues in a timely manner.
Lead the investigation of any product quality issues, including root cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Provide quality-related input and guidance during new product development and product lifecycle management.
Prepare and manage the Quality department's budget and resources, ensuring strategic allocation aligned with business objectives.
Represent company interests externally regarding Quality, interfacing with customers, suppliers, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders.
Report to executive management on the performance of the Quality Management System (QMS), including progress against quality key performance indicators (KPIs) and any needed improvements.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in engineering, Quality, Business Administration, or a related field; a Master's degree or advanced certification (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, CQE) is a plus.
Proven experience (typically 15+ years) in quality leadership roles within the aerospace and defense industry.
Demonstrated understanding of quality systems and standards relevant to aerospace and defense, as well as experience interfacing with regulatory agencies.
Strong leadership skills with a track record of leading and developing high-performing teams.
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a detail-oriented mindset.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working collaboratively across all levels of an organization and with external partners.
Demonstrated ability to lead change and implement company-wide initiatives effectively.
Willingness to travel as needed to meet business requirements.
