Food Services Assistant

Job Summary:

Performs various food service tasks, including food preparation, serving, dishwashing, and transportation. Customer service is key. May operate a cash register.

Education/Experience:

• High school enrollment, diploma, or GED preferred..
• Food service or customer service experience preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Ensures food quality and recipe adherence.
2. Meets productivity and serving schedule requirements.
3. Reduces waste and controls costs by following portion guidelines.
4. Properly maintains and uses equipment, cleaning items as needed.
5. Strives to achieve high customer satisfaction and service standards.
6. Maintains excellent sanitation ratings by following cleaning protocols.
7. Adheres to safety and sanitation rules.
8. Completes required training (HIPAA, OSHA, etc.).
9. Supports performance improvement initiatives and teamwork.
10. Safely delivers and retrieves food trays following protocol.
11. Engages with patients, visitors, and staff, resolving issues as needed.
12. Promotes a cooperative work environment and customer service.

Skills/Qualifications:

• English literacy and ability to follow instructions.
• Flexible to department needs.
• High customer service standards.
• Comfortable interacting with patients.
• Able to work weekends and holidays.
• Strong communication skills.

Work Environment:

• Works in all areas of Food and Nutrition Services.
• Exposure to wet floors and sharp equipment.

Physical Requirements:

• Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting (up to 50 lbs).
