Job Summary:
The Manufacturing Engineering Manager plans, directs, and coordinates the activities of the maintenance, tooling, and manufacturing engineers, facilitating efficient manufacturing operations across the organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage and provide technical support to all shifts of manufacturing and facilities maintenance personnel, manufacturing engineer(s), engineering technician(s) and Tool Room.
- Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
- Prepares cost estimates for equipment and tooling by studying blueprints/drawings, and related customer documentation; consults with engineers and other professional and technical personnel for manufacturing input.
- Determines improvements by analyzing cost-benefit ratios of equipment, supplies, materials and processes.
- Directs and coordinates the planning and completion of manufacturing engineering projects.
- Reviews engineering change notices with staff and analyzes for implementation impact.
- Plan/develop annual spending budget and capital spending plan for the facility’s manufacturing equipment.
- Oversee the establishment of machine standards and calibration protocols for IMMs and IBMs. Also develop the necessary related training for the technical staff.
- Approve requisitions to maintain flow of spare parts, materials, and supplies.
- Provides guidance and oversight in development and execution of plant renovations and expansions; coordinates outside contractors and vendors.
- Recommend measures to improve production processes/methods, equipment performance, and product quality.
- Respond to customer quality issues as needed; may include travel, communication of response, and oversight of a resolution to address the root cause of the quality issue(s).
- Initiate and/or facilitate process engineering evaluations as needed for assessment of manufacturing equipment. The results of these evaluations could include implementation of new technology to improve process.
- Suggest changes to the work environment improve safety and increase efficiency of the shop, department, or work crew.
- Direct and/or facilitate the validation of equipment/processes within the facility.
- Other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree; Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering and a minimum of three years related experience in a manufacturing environment or
- Minimum 6-10 years of experience in an industrial/manufacturing setting; related experience in diagnosing and maintaining injection molding equipment and technical management.
- Minimum 5 years of management experience.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Must be familiar with computers and various software programs.
- Familiarity with SAP, Master Control or similar systems and databases, a plus.

Travel Requirements:
- Must be able to travel up to 10% of the time
