Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an exciting career opportunity for a Principal Software Engineer / Senior Principal Software Engineer to join the team of qualified, diverse individuals in support of the MQ-4C Triton program test activities. This position will be located at San Diego, CA.

The Triton Test IPT is seeking a Software Engineer who's excited to apply their skills to the world of test and evaluation. In this role, you'll contribute to the development and execution of automated and manual test procedures, with a focus on improving system performance. You'll work as part of a high performing Test & Evaluation (T&E) team in the successful analysis of System Level 3 requirements, development and execution of System Level 3 test procedures. You'll support the continuous maintenance and improvement of the Triton Systems Center and all lab activities.

Essential Functions may include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for development and execution of automated and manual test cases to verify system functional requirements.

  • The ideal candidate is detail oriented, organized, and able to learn challenging concepts quickly in a fast-paced environment.

  • Work independently on assigned tasks to meet deadlines while managing multiple projects at once.

  • Flexibility to support weekends, multiple shifts, and off hours.

  • The candidate will also be expected to actively seek opportunities for process improvement.

  • Interface and present test integration and execution results to program and test leadership at  pre-and-post-test reviews.

  • Collaborating with T&E Teammates including the Test Planning & Execution team and T&E Management to successfully execute test activities and lab integration activities

Basic Qualifications :

This requisition may be filled at a Principal Software Engineer (Level 3) OR Senior Principal Software Engineer (Level 4) level based on the qualifications below.

Principal Software Engineer (Level 3)

  • Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline and 5 years of related professional/military experience in engineering, computer science, or related field; OR a Master’s Degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years of related professional/military experience in engineering, computer science, or related field; OR a Ph.D. in a STEM discipline and 1 year of related professional/military experience in engineering, computer science, or related field.
  • Must have an active DoD Secret Clearance or higher (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation) and the ability to obtain a DoD Top Secret within a reasonable period, as determined by the company to meet its business needs.
