About the job
As part of our Oracle Unit, spread across Valencia, Madrid, London, Timisoara, Offshore, New York, and Nearshore, we are looking for a Senior Database Administrator to provide ongoing support for relational database services and implement service enhancements in both on-premises and cloud environments for our UNICC partners.
Responsibilities
• Provide strategic guidance for Relational Database Hosting services
• Manage projects related to Database Hosting services
• Support Service Owner and Team Lead in delivering UNICC Service Delivery Agreements (SDAs)
• Coordinate, prepare, present and implement proposals and projects linked to SDAs
• Act as a go-to expert for troubleshooting database-related issues
• Manage, prioritize and take ownership of tasks (service requests, change requests, incidents, project tasks, etc.)
• Monitor tasks assigned to the Database team and ensure completion within SLA targets
• Design, install, configure and support database infrastructures
• Administer and support database systems (storage provisioning, VM provisioning, patching, upgrading)
• Implement backups, standby databases, monitoring, and disaster recovery plans
• Automate database administration activities using Ansible or other tools
• Perform performance tuning, troubleshooting, and database recovery procedures
• Provide on-call support outside normal working hours on a rotational basis
• Produce documentation and support during planned maintenance windows
What we are looking for
• Extensive database administration experience, including upgrades and patching
• Strong knowledge of at least one major cloud service (Oracle OCI, AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Familiarity with Cloud products such as Oracle Database Cloud, Exadata Cloud, Integration Cloud, Azure SQL, AWS RDS, etc.
• Expertise in at least three of the following:
- Oracle Exadata
- Oracle RAC
- Oracle Dataguard
- Oracle RMAN
- SQL Server Always On, Failover Clustering, Availability Groups
- Disaster recovery technologies (mirroring, log shipping)
- SQL Server SSRS, SSAS, SSIS, MDS
- Oracle Enterprise Manager
- SQL Server Replication
- Database recovery procedures
• Experience in automating administration activities
• Strong scripting skills (Linux shell, PowerShell, Oracle, T-SQL, automation tools)
Nice to have
• Experience with ServiceNow or similar service management tools
• Knowledge of Oracle Integration Cloud and Oracle OVM administration
• Linux (Oracle Enterprise / RedHat) and Windows failover clusters administration
• Ansible or other automation technologies
• NetApp NAS or similar hosting experience
• Experience with MySQL replication and data storage virtualization
