We are looking for an Head of Facultative Desk – LatAm based in Miami 

 

The Impact You Will Have 
As Head of Facultative Desk – LatAm, you will be responsible for leading and managing the (re)-insurance operations in Miami, focusing on strengthening Allianz Commercial's footprint in the Latin American market. This role involves overseeing a team across various (re)-insurance specialties and coordinating with teams based in Latin America. The position is responsible for enhancing technical excellence, governance, and operational resilience, while driving business growth and diversification. 

 
Some of your specific responsibilities could include: 

• Developing and executing strategies to optimize the LatAm Hub's performance, aligning with Allianz Commercial's objectives for technical excellence and operational resilience.   

• Day to day management of a Regional Hub team, including direct reports and matrix management of functional reports as well as managing cost center budget within plan. 

• Overseeing and supporting a team, fostering collaboration and ensuring high performance across business functions and lines of business while maintaining close collaboration with global and regional teams. 

• Leveraging Miami's strategic advantages to manage large and complex risks, unlocking new business opportunities and enhancing core-market capabilities.   

• Building and maintaining relationships with clients, partners, and regulatory bodies to support business success and regional growth.   

• Positively representing Allianz Commercial internally within the Allianz Group, and externally to the market. 

• Centralizing underwriting decisions and approval processes to strengthen governance and ensure compliance with Allianz's risk appetite and business ambitions.  

• Managing reinsurance exposures through relevant channels to enhance operational efficiency and regional oversight.   

• Maintaining a lean operational presence by effectively utilizing existing structures and leveraging AGR US infrastructure for booking and (re)-insurance, ensuring efficient resource management and high potential upside.  

• Enabling close collaboration with reinsurers to develop tailored regional solutions for core countries, aligning with Group’s guidelines on clauses, Mandatory Security List (MSL), and processes.
