Senior Production Specialist

About the role

Accurately perform a wide range of print production duties in support of Navy Federal Marketing to ensure collateral is produced accurately to meet quality standards, budgets, and deadlines, which includes speed to market, intelligent print quantities, cost savings, and price breaks. Works on assignments requiring considerable judgment and makes recommendations for solutions.

  • Provide day-to-day execution of Marketing print production duties, direct mail, projects, and initiatives
  • Lead the print production workflow for projects and tasks, such as: multi-effort direct mail campaigns, branch openings, direct reprints, branch campaign materials, tax-related mailings, event collateral, and monthly matrix mailings
  • Establish and manage aggressive timelines for a high volume of projects while achieving quality results
  • Socialize any critical delays or red flags to team, Asst Mgr, and leadership
  • Manage projects efficiently by identifying important production and operational information to ensure accurate execution while attaining best speed to market
  • Execute print specifications for high profile projects ensuring accurate operational information is included so job can be sourced appropriately
  • Maintain holistic view and execution of all print production projects and initiatives; including but not limited to plastics, direct mail, forms, banners, and security documents
  • Provide quality control reviews on all specification documents, proofs, print files, and other information provided to internal teams, Procurement, or external vendors
  • Collaborate with project managers and marketing strategists to identify important task dates and production requirements for more complex projects
  • Build and maintain a working relationship with Procurement; disseminating accurate print specs; trouble shooting file issues and coordinating all workflow to achieve deadlines
  • Contribute to developing and reconciling budgets
  • Produce reports to support business partner needs, as they relate to printing expenses
  • Establish cost savings by finding alternative print options and other efficiencies such as gang printing; decreased waste reduction of stock and managing transition of new versions
  • Achieve cost avoidances by working with the design team to adjust artwork to achieve print cost reductions or to run jobs more efficiently
  • Document print processes and procedures, identify gaps, and recommend improvements where applicable
  • Create purchase requisitions, track expenses, and reconcile/approve print invoices
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Significant knowledge and understanding of processes related to print production, direct mail operations, workflow, and supply chain management
  • Experience in marketing, advertising, direct response, corporate communications principles, and marketing communication production processes
  • Working knowledge of marketing productions tools, technology, and concepts
  • Working knowledge of postal formats and regulations
  • Experience in editing copy and proofreading marketing material
  • Experience in working and participating in cross-functional, multi-dimensional teams and projects
  • Significant experience managing multiple priorities independently and/or in a team environment to achieve goals
  • Significant experience in leading, guiding, and mentoring others
  • Significant experience to compile, organize, and present information clearly and concisely
  • Effective skill to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a demanding, fast paced environment
  • Advanced skill maintaining accuracy with attention to detail and meeting deadlines
  • Advanced skill exercising initiative and using good judgment to make sound decisions
  • Effective skill with database, word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software

Desired Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of regulatory and financial regulations and compliance protocol
  • Working knowledge of Navy Federal products, services, programs, policies and procedures
  • Bachelor's Degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Business Administration, or the equivalent combination of training, education, and experience

Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00AM - 4:30PM
