Automation/Software Engineer

Catalyx is seeking an experienced Automation/Software
Engineer to support the on-site development, configuration, and validation of a
Cytiva Bioreactor Batch Data application built on Ignition SCADA software. This
role involves close collaboration with process engineers, IT/OT stakeholders,
and quality teams to drive the project lifecycle from user requirements through
implementation, protocol execution, and final acceptance.
Key Responsibilities
· Collaborate with stakeholders to develop User
Requirement Specifications (URS) and Functional Requirements Specifications
(FRS).
· Configure and optimize a custom Ignition
application to acquire and visualize batch data from Cytiva bioreactor systems.
· Develop and execute validation protocols
(IQ/OQ/PQ) in alignment with GAMP5 and 21 CFR Part 11.
· Troubleshoot technical issues during testing and
deployment phases.
· Support integration with other digital systems
(e.g., MES, LIMS, historians).
· Maintain accurate project documentation and
validation records.
· Serve as the on-site technical lead, driving
project execution and stakeholder communication.
Requirements
· Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer
Science, Automation, or related field.
· 3–7+ years of experience in industrial
automation, process control, or SCADA/HMI application development.
· Hands-on experience with Ignition SCADA platform
(Inductive Automation) — including Perspective and Vision modules.
· Familiarity with biotech or pharmaceutical
manufacturing environments, especially involving Cytiva bioreactors or related
process equipment.
· Strong knowledge of validation protocols
(IQ/OQ/PQ) and regulated environments (GxP, 21 CFR Part 11).
· Experience with URS/FRS development and
lifecycle documentation.
· Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and
interpersonal skills.
· Ability to work independently and effectively in
an on-site cross-functional team environment.
