Position Overview
Fortune is hiring its first ever General Manager, Lists & Rankings, to take our iconic company lists operations to the next level. Our vision is bold and ambitious: We want Fortune to become the premier global source for company information, and our new GM will lead the initiative.
Our company lists include the Fortune 500 and its various international editions, Best Places to Work, Change the World, and many others. Spots on Fortune lists are always earned, and never paid for.
Fortune builds exciting partnerships with many of the companies that we rank – providing them with branded content, accolades/awards, and award-winning bespoke advertising solutions. What is more, Fortune owns a treasure trove of historic rankings data, which we currently sell under the Fortune Analytics brand. We want our new General Manager of Lists & Rankings to oversee the generation and monetization of company lists, helping us maximize the commercial potential of Fortune company rankings.
What you will do:
- Strategize on the holistic go-to-market strategy for historical and current Fortune company lists, working closely with sales and marketing teams
- Overseeing the P&L and building a new business unit
- Hiring and managing a team of research analysts to conduct data analysis to identify trends, market segments, and insights for Fortune's lists & rankings.
- Engage and inspire cross-functional teams from various departments: advertising sales, product & technology, consumer marketing, branding, and editorial
- Work closely with colleagues in Europe and Asia
- Help drive a companywide CRM transformation project
- Work with Fortune’s partners to position Fortune’s suite of products in the marketplace
- You will report to the Chief Strategy Officer, and it is imperative you know how to execute a strategy, and be goals oriented
What we are looking for:
- Solid understanding of subscription models, digital media and media landscape
- Experience with CRM implementation and change management is a plus
- Player-coach management style; the ability to quickly switch gears between the big picture and operational details.
- Entrepreneurial spirit and hyper focus
Compensation Range:
Base Salary: $250,000.00 - $350,000.00 & Bonus Eligible
