About the role

The role involves managing the group function "Technical Compliance" at the specified location, including the local deployment and supervision of the Technical Compliance Management System (TCMS). The position requires coordinating local Technical Compliance clearings and incidents, aligning with the global team for proper handling and decision-making.


Responsible for the United States, Canada, and Mexico.  

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the local strategic agenda for Technical Compliance, establishing targets and priorities in conjunction with the Head of TC. 
  • Ensure an efficient local Technical Compliance Management System (TCMS) in collaboration with Divisions, Business Units, plants, and relevant group functions.
  • Oversee local process/system effectiveness, TCMS risks, and regularly report to the Head of TC.
  • Maintain professional interactions with external parties such as regulators, auditors, suppliers, or testing institutes, handling queries and investigations.
  • Establish and sustain relevant TCMS 2nd Line of Defense (LoD) processes locally, especially the Clearing and Incident Management Process, in coordination with TC Systems Management.
  • Analyze local audit reports regarding TC relevant aspects.
  • Monitor and enhance measures in the 1st LoD, propelling improvements in TCMS.
  • Foster local TC cultural development.
  • Develop and implement country-specific training rollouts, measures, and tools.
  • Provide TC guidance to employees at all hierarchical levels.
  • Coordinate communication and cooperation with customers in partnership with sales and PM.
  • Evolve the TCMS organization as a premier advisor on Product Compliance to internal clients, managing daily inquiries from departments such as engineering or product management concerning international regulatory and normative requirements.

Compliance and Conduct:

  • Adhere to the VT Code of Conduct and champion its principles.
  • Comply with the stipulated rules for safety, health, security, fire, environmental protection, legal compliance, and technical compliance.
  • Uphold Data Protection requirements and ensure the confidentiality of information.
  • Observe the protocols outlined in the Quality Management System.
  • Work with management and teams to identify and manage regulatory risk. 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering or a related field (Master's preferred).
  • Over 7 years of experience in automotive .
  • Proficient in communication, organizational, and project management, with a track record of working with cross-functional teams across various locations and hierarchical levels.
  • Must have a good understanding of industry processes and existing business regulations
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Ability to solve problems when they arise
  • Excellent interpersonal skills

Preferred: 

  •  Ensure efficient implementation of the global TCMS in NA  in collaboration.
