Job Summary
Utilize electrical and/or mechanical expertise to enhance the availability and reliability of rolling stock equipment. Implement optimized inspection, preventive, and corrective maintenance programs, incorporating changes based on reliability-centered maintenance principles. Ensure that maintenance activities are strategically planned and executed to minimize downtime and maximize operational efficiency, contributing significantly to the overall reliability of the rolling stock fleet.
Essential Functions
- Directs equipment maintenance programs to enhance availability and reliability.
- Assumes primary leadership, ensuring effective communication across shifts.
- Manages rolling stock maintenance in compliance with Amtrak and regulatory standards.
- Oversees scheduling and execution of work orders for assigned equipment.
- Reviews daily reports for proper recording and promptly addresses identified issues, recommending solutions.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education, training and/or relevant experience.
- Plus 6 years of relevant work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education, training and/or relevant experience.
- Plus 8 years of relevant work experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong leadership with decisive decision-making abilities
- Proven problem-solving and analytical proficiency
- Effective oral and written communication skills for impactful presentations
- Aptitude for identifying and implementing solutions to address persistent issues
- Proficient in PC applications such as word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software
The salary/hourly range is $94,300.00 – $122,256.00. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. Depending on an employee’s assigned worksite or location, Amtrak may consider a geo-pay differential to be applied to the employee’s base salary. Amtrak may offer additional incentive and pay programs to recognize and reward our employees, including a short-term incentive bonus based upon factors such as individual and company performance that is commensurate with the level of the position.
