Position Summary:

Wausau Tile is seeking hardworking, energetic, and quality- and safety-minded individuals to join our Quality Assurance team as RotoForm Machine Operators. This role requires a team player with a strong mechanical aptitude who can also manage tasks independently. The ideal candidate will be reliable, detail-oriented, and capable of working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Machine Setup & Operation

• Set up, adjust, operate, and clean a semi-automated plastic rotoform machine used to produce various plastic furniture products in multiple sizes, colors, and styles.

• Read and interpret production schedules, blueprints, and specification sheets.

• Select and prepare molds, tools, and materials needed for each production run.

• Load plastic powder or granules into molds and secure them using power tools such as cordless or pneumatic impact drivers.

• Monitor machinery to ensure consistent quality and productivity during operations.

Production Workflow

• Continuously manage the molding cycle: prepare materials, secure molds, monitor cooling, and remove finished products.

• Use hand tools, pneumatic, and electric-powered tools for assembly and finishing processes.

• Ensure each product meets company quality standards and specifications.

Support & Maintenance Tasks

• Perform routine cleaning of tools, machines, and work areas.

• Operate a bandsaw and pneumatic chipper to process plastic scrap for recycling.

• Restock production hardware and supplies as needed.

• Ensure proper tool storage and workstation organization at the end of each shift.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

• Ability to read and interpret production documentation including blueprints and spec sheets.

• Mechanically inclined and experienced with operating hand and power tools.

• Previous experience in a manufacturing or machine operator role is a plus.

• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality and safety.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

• Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, squatting, and twisting.

• Repetitive motions involving wrists, hands, arms, back, and shoulders.

• Ability to ascend/descend ladders and stairs.

• Tolerance for working in varied temperatures and environments associated with manufacturing.
