In this position... 

The Production Supervisor position is a supervisory leadership role supported by on-the-job training, development, and opportunity for career progression. Production Supervisors are:

What you'll do...

  • Coach Safety, Quality and Productivity to ensure objectives are met through following standardized work
  • React immediately to quality issues Initiate sort/purge/contain activities as needed
  • Monitor andon occurrences. Be the first responder to quality concerns as they arise
  • Support Continuous Improvement and coach problem resolution to the lowest level of the organization
  • Communication and recognition
  • Build Team Member capability
  • Create a conducive work environment for the team(s) to complete their assigned responsibilities / tasks
  • Basic administration of supervisory responsibilities and documents
  • Optimize outputs in accordance with budgets and cost objectives 
  • Identify sources of variation within a production environment effectively and efficiently
  • Support concern resolution with cross-functional teams, including the Quality department, production, and suppliers.

You'll have... 

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1+ years of supervisory and / or manufacturing experience
  • Working knowledge in Microsoft: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Strong mechanical background
  • Basic understanding of internal transmission components and interaction
  • Ability to read blue prints and identify suspect problematic features
  • Ability to work rotating shifts and hours, including nights and weekends

  • Two-way communicator who actively listens to hourly team members, leaders, business partners and customers
  • Highly committed to continuous improvement, while applying innovative solutions with a customer first mindset

  • Administer the CBA (collective bargaining agreement) consistently and effectively
  • Values different opinions & is open to ideas & perspectives from others 
  • Capable of assigning work to unionized hourly workforce and holding employees accountable for following processes pertaining to daily work assignments in terms safety, quality, and throughput

Even better, you may have...

  • An Associate or a Bachelor’s Degree 
  • Powertrain experience 
  • Safety and quality experience 
  • Six Sigma: Black or Green Belt certified
  • Knowledge of constraint management principles 
  • Prior experience managing a unionized workforce
