Collins Aerospace is seeking a highly engaged, hands-on, Military Cabin Integration Engineering Manager for our Cabin Monuments & Integration team in Everett, WA.  As the Mechanical Engineering Manager, Aircraft Interior technical experience is essential. The Engineering manager will need to demonstrate the capability to develop and manage a team to support the execution of product development.

You will have accountability over a staff of Design Engineers and their deliverables of their supported programs. You will also support department activities to improve efficiency, ensure predictable execution, and keep talent staff engaged.

The position works Onsite at our Everett, WA facility.

What You Will Do:

  • Direct management of engineering team including hiring, career development and mentoring
  • Oversee the Mechanical Design team that will design and develop aircraft modifications outfitting aircraft interior monuments and interior furnishings.
  • Oversee the designs and mockups of aircraft interior prototypes, ensuring they meet customer, requirements, and certification standards.
  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the program management team and Project Engineers to forecast long-term needs, ensuring alignment with the company’s future strategies.
  • Engineering Compliance: Ensure that all project-related engineering data adheres to corporate policies, Military, and FAA certification requirements.
  • Accountable for meeting program requirements including cost and schedule
  • Interface with program management and project engineers to assure technical goals are achieved.
  • Oversight of all procedures and processes being adhered to by the team
  • Implement best practices and improve efficiency
  • Responsible for capturing lessons learned and implementing corrective actions.
  • Support Pursuit & Order capture activities including bidding & estimation efforts for new programs
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires University Degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience
  • U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or granted refugee or asylee status) as defined here: https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-22/chapter-I/subchapter-M/part-120/subpart- C/section-120.62Minimum

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience managing projects to support Aircraft Interior Modifications/Retrofit. Experience in managing an engineering team and/or mechanical leadership experience.
  • Significant experience with Aircraft interior design, retrofit or integration.
  • Experience with Earned Value Management
  • Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and champions MSBE best practice
  • Ability to obtain security clearance at a future date
