The Office of Management and Budget Director is responsible for managing, directing, and supervising the activities of the Office of Management and Budget including planning, overseeing, and participating in the development, preparation, revision, and presentation for approval/adoption of the City’s Operating Budget, the five-year Capital Improvement Plan, and multi-year revenue and expenditure forecasts and models.Responsibilities include: direct supervision of associated professional staff; implementing an annual budget process; and coordinating the development and completion of financial reports for the City Commission, City management, and state and federal budget/fiscal reports. This position is also responsible for preparing the Financial and Operating plan annual budget, and short- and long-term objectives. This class performs related administrative and management duties as required.
The incumbent possesses an extensive degree of professional managerial knowledge and technical expertise in financial analysis and exercises such advising City officials on budgetary and policy matters. General direction is received from the City Manager who holds the incumbent responsible for the effective management of complex processes and achievement of established goals and objectives.
Work in this class is distinguished from other classes by its emphasis on complex executive level work to assist the City Manager with formulating and strengthening the city's involvement with its citizenry and external and internal stakeholders, as it relates to budget, management and strategic direction of the organization.
