About the role

Key Responsibilities

  • Owns product change management (PCM) and control
    • Unreleased product approval and control
    • ECO (Engineering Change Order) approval
    • Implementation of PCN (Part Change Notification), with Global Product Support
    • Manages field service related activities, reviews approves and filters all system feedback activities that will have customer impact
  • Accuracy of customer shipped configurations and BOMs (Bill of Materials)
    • CaRM (Configuration accuracy Review Meeting) reviews
    • BOM (Bill of Materials) accuracy
    • NSR (Non Standard Request)  approval 
  • Owns common modules roadmap and implementation post Phase 5 of ePLC.
  • Implementation of component roadmaps including part obsolescence, replacements, alternative vendors and cost reduction
  • Facilitates intercompany communication to align on product strategies, provide guidance on pricing, spare level contents, and restricted part orders. Facilitates alignment meeting for product roadmap and market proliferation
  • Support or Lead as necessary effort and coordination between various intercompany groups (such as operations, Engineering and GPM) to achieve divisional cost targets and improve operational metrics for reduction in Build cycle time, Period, Burden and Variance
  • Relook at our Product Structure and Mfg. strategy 
  • Manage strategic vendor issues
  • Manage all changes to the product after product release
    • whether driven by engineering, quality, safety, customer demands or supply obsolesce

This Demand Planning position is responsible for creating the System demand plans for their respective business units.  The Demand Planner leverages demand planning processes and models for all customers, and product lines, incorporating business intelligence and forecast information gathered from sales, marketing, finance, analysts, and other sources.

Demand planner uses advanced analytics tools to develop demand forecasting algorithms, what-if scenario models, cause-effect tracking, etc.

The Demand Planner is the integration point between the tops down macro/strategic forecast and bottoms up sales committed forecast. This position decides the number of units, type of units to forecast for the 24 month rolling horizon.  They lead the demand dialogue each S&OP demand review meeting month for their respective business units and products.  They work with the Executive S&OP committee to consolidate all BUs into an SPG demand plan and identify and mitigate any missing demand across the corporation. 

Key Functions:

  • Develop demand forecasts (operational forecasts) at multiple levels of aggregation for multiple time horizons as part of a demand planning function. 
  • Develop and maintain the Demand forecasting algorithms using advanced analytics software as the primary forecasting and scenario analysis tool.
  • Analyze alternate customer scenarios, and translate them into alternate Business Unit forecasts through advanced algorithms.
  • Develop statistical forecasting models for WFE.
  • Review historical sales trends, research demand drivers, prepare forecast data, develop statistical forecast models, and evaluate forecast results.
  • Coordinate cross-functional research activities to reconcile significant variances and refine the forecast model to reflect updated sales and marketing assumptions.
  • Interact with sales, marketing, and Business Unit finance to understand demand forecast drivers and their impact on each Business Unit.
