IT Applications Intern

JOB SUMMARY:

This internship supports the IT team through the creation and modification of application templates.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Investigate rapid application development (RAD) as a complement to primary development
• Investigate SQL table relationships as means to the data-layer
• Investigate coding methodologies to improve software development life cycle (SDLC)
• Look at various languages to allow template creation (UI portions: xaml, vbforms; Code Behind: C#, VB.NET)
• Other duties, as assigned

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

• Junior or senior majoring in Computer Science (class list must support an understanding of OOP)
• C# and VB.NET, required
• Data base experience, beneficial
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Work independently primary; team skills, secondary

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Requires walking, sitting, and standing in a typical office setting.
• Lift/carry 10 pounds at a time
• Must be able to read small print, with or without visual corrective lenses.

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:

• Corporate and departmental orientations
• General: SPC, Annual Hazardous Waste and Right-to-Know, Annual EMS
• Other training, as assigned

• On-site
• FT, 1st shift, M-F
• Background check and drug screening required
