The Role at a Glance
We are excited to bring on a Sr. Consultant, Product Owner to lead an agile development team which sits in the Admin Systems Value Stream within the Retirement Plan Services business. In this role, you will be responsible for defining and prioritizing a product backlog focused on the RS/XNET cycle and database. You’ll work in close partnership with product management to understand customer and business needs and then translate those needs within agile software engineering teams to implement solutions and drive outcomes that contribute to the success of our portfolio.
What you'll be doing
• Enable accuracy, scalability, and operational confidence across the business – not just feature delivery
• Own the reliability, evolution, and performance of a critical admin system
• Leverage tools including AI-assisted to analyze trends, clarify requirements, and inform prioritization, while retaining accountability for decisions, outcomes, and risk
• Prioritize backlog by balancing reliability, risk, and enablement by using system trends to adapt priorities while protecting stability and long-term scalability
• Actively orchestrate cross-team dependencies by collaborating with other product owners and delivery teams
• Partner strategically with product managers and key stakeholders to interpret customer needs, business objectives, and emerging industry or technology trends into a clear roadmap
• Provide business analysis and validation support when needed to assist with successful delivery
• Proactively identify and recommend process improvements that significantly reduce workloads and/or maintains/improves quality
• Ensure stakeholder alignment through transparent, data-driven trade-offs
• Mentor and develop less-experienced team members by fostering shared ownership, consistency and a culture of continuous learning and improvement
What we’re looking for
Must-haves:
· 3 - 5+ Years of experience in Product Ownership / Management, Business Analysis, Project Management, or other Agile-related role within a development team that aligns with the responsibilities
· 4 Year/Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor's)
· Forward thinking mindset with strong analytical acumen
· Ability to work autonomously
· Confident, comfortable communicator with collaborative style and strong written and verbal communication skills
· Demonstrates excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and multi-task while maintaining strict attention to detail
· Ability to work with others in a team environment.
· Demonstrated strong relationship management skills with internal clients (e.g. senior management, peers and colleagues); proven ability to develop creative and collaborative approaches.
· Demonstrates strong leadership skills including, critical ability to coordinate and balance multiple initiatives in a time-sensitive environment, under pressure, and meeting deadlines.
· Finds common ground and can gain collaboration among senior/executive management, colleagues, and peers; can influence outcomes without directing or commanding.
Nice-to-haves:
· Retirement Plan Services knowledge
· Familiarity with retirement plan record keeping systems (i.e.RS/XNET)
· Experience with JIRA and leveraging AI assisted tools
