Overview
The Senior Director of Strategy is responsible for developing and implementing data-driven frameworks that enhance decision-making, performance visibility, and risk management at HireRight. This dynamic leadership role involves building and leading cross-functional teams to build comprehensive analytics and insights connecting operational performance to financial outcomes, partnering with senior leadership to identify growth opportunities, and driving enterprise strategic planning and performance management. Critical to the success of HireRight’s rapid value creation journey, this role is a key player in executing high-impact strategic initiatives and critical business areas.
The ideal candidate will have extensive business operations, strategy and strategic planning experience with a track record of success driving optimal decision making through data-driven and collaborative problem-solving approaches. Experience building and leading business analytics teams, partnering with executive stakeholders and establishing data-driven management processes are highly desirable. Critical characteristics for success include strong cross-functional and direct leadership skills, exceptional communication, a strategic thinking and problem-solving mindset, the ability to navigate ambiguity, and a high degree of business acumen.
Responsibilities
- Develop the Foundational Enterprise and Operational Strategy
- Develop a data-driven framework that defines business value levers, drives optimal decision-making and provides visibility into performance, trends, and risks.
- Parter with senior leadership leveraging analytics to identify opportunities for growth in new market segments, product development, AI/ML deployment, operational cost optimization opportunities, and areas for strategic investment.
- Lead cross-functional teams across go-to-market, product, operations and finance teams to harmonize financial and operational data and analysis, clearly linking operational and top-line performance to financial results
- Drive Enterprise Planning and Performance Management
- Establish end-to-end enterprise KPIs and scorecards, enabling a “single source of truth” approach to measuring performance, tacking initiative progress, and adapting priorities in real time.
- Develop and manage an enterprise-wide roadmap, optimizing initiative prioritization to drive profitability, operational leverage, and value creation in alignment with HireRight’s strategic objectives.
- Work cross-functionally across Sales, Product, Finance, Operations and Technology teams to define and refine the company’s strategic plan, translating high-level goals into actionable and measurable objectives.
- Support Critical Development Initiatives and Operational Priorities
- Ensure efficient execution of initiatives building foundational capabilities, improving the operating model, and deploying innovative solutions that enhance HireRight’s growth potential, resilience and value.
- Support initiatives to develop and integrate new lines of business, accelerate global growth, and optimize partnership opportunities for commercial success.
- Build and Lead Teams
- Lead and mentor a diverse, small but mighty team of strategy and operations professionals, data analysts, strategic planners, cultivating a high-performance culture that values collaboration and accountability
- Develop an indirect team of key partners from technology, finance and operational teams, driving a “one-team” ethos focused on delivering value for the enterprise
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance or a related field; MBA or relevant graduate degree strongly preferred
- 7+ years of experience in enterprise planning / strategy, management consulting, or strategic program management roles, preferably in a technology or high-growth environment.
