Join us! GoFundMe is looking to build out our InfraComms engineering team to help establish a robust communication platform. We are searching for a talented software engineer who’s interested in changing the lives of millions of people for the better, personal and professional growth, and having a real impact on our products and users!

The Job...

  • You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, design, and data science, to define, drive and deliver innovative solutions at GoFundMe.
  • You’ll work across the backend building services that support the business & marketing team in providing a seamless experience to our users.
  • You'll be responsible for the entire product development lifecycle which include design, development, deployment, documentation and maintenance of new and existing features.
  • You’ll ensure the reliability, security, and maintainability of the systems and services owned by the team.
  • You’ll contribute to the growth of the team by looking for opportunities to improve efficiency, processes, productivity and provide leadership to others.
  • You’ll participate in on-call rotations to assist in troubleshooting urgent engineering issues.

You…

  • 5+ years of professional experience building and shipping high performance API infrastructures, as well as consumer facing applications.
  • Strong experience working with backend programming languages (e.g., Java, Kotlin, Python, PHP).
  • Experience in schema design in relational or NoSQL databases.
  • Experience with distributed software architecture and debugging
  • Experience working with teams in an agile, intensely iterative software development process.
  • Experience with performance and optimization problems and the ability to both diagnose and prevent these problems.
  • Experience with test-driven development and containerization.
  • Experience with application performance monitoring and log analytics tools. We use New Relic and Sumo Logic

Bonus Points...

  • Experience building event-driven systems on services like SQS/SNS, Kafka, Redis
  • Experience with AWS, Kubernetes, GCP, or Azure.
  • Experience withTypescript, Next,js.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools.
  • Experience with Localization.
  • Experience with email and email delivery.
