The team

Join our growing Product Legal team of 10, embedded with Kraken’s Product, Design, and Engineering teams to ship novel products and experiences that accelerate the global adoption of crypto. We’re a tight, experienced group of product lawyers from a diverse range of tradfi, fintech, and crypto backgrounds who move fast, stay curious, and take pride in the commercial accountability of our advice - partnering directly with product teams to chart clear, defensible paths to launch.

This is a fully remote role for a lawyer licensed to practice in the United States.

The opportunity

• Global product counsel for Consumer initiatives

• Provide end‑to‑end advice across product ideation, development, marketing, launch, and lifecycle changes.

• DRI for the Consumer product, development, and engineering sub-pods

• Marketing & promotions review for Consumer (focus on US and global geos)

• Post-licensing regulatory analysis, including determining whether new products or product features require additional permissions, disclosures, or structuring."

• Stakeholder enablement – draft playbooks, templates, and risk assessments to accelerate compliant shipping.

• Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Skills you should HODL

• 10+ years of relevant experience with US financial laws and regulations, including but not limited to the ‘33 Act, money transmission laws, state lending laws, and payment regulations, , whether at a law firm or in-house

• Mindset that is team-oriented, plus proactive and entrepreneurial: an opportunity-making person who uses the law to increase the company’s optionality, not decrease it

• Ability to move quickly and deliver concise, business-minded practical advice

• Interest in the crypto industry / what our company is offering to the world and why

Nice to haves

• A tech-forward lawyer with experience and enthusiasm for using LLMs to increase efficiency, create new frameworks, know-how libraries and custom GPTs.

• Experience advising the Regulatory / Product function of a fast-growing FinTech or crypto business as in-house counsel.

• Prior experience supporting product launches from inception of an idea to launch in multiple countries simultaneously.
