Project Manager - Practice Innovation & Excellence

As a member of the Practice Innovation and Excellence team, you will play a pivotal role in driving projects and initiatives aligned with the Radiation Oncology strategic plan and as prioritized by the Midwest Radiation Oncology Executive Committee. You will collaborate with operational leaders, project proponents, and multidisciplinary stakeholders to provide critical support for key activities to facilitate projects from planning to closure. This role will oversee the comprehensive departmental project portfolio, ensuring alignment between projects across all three shields and with the strategic plan. 

The Project Manager (PM) works independently assuming primary responsibility for planning, directing, coordinating and delivering project activities through the entire project life cycle. The PM is responsible for achieving project objectives and completion on time, on budget, and in conformance to Mayo Clinic project management methodologies and standards. The PM may independently lead one or multiple medium to large projects that have department or site level strategic and operational importance. Project work has moderate to high risk and risk interdependencies, may have several interrelationships, and may have moderate to high costs associated. 

The PM applies a strong knowledge base of relevant systems/applications as it relates to workflow, process, and problem resolution and recommends improvements. Researches and analyzes operational procedures and methods and recommends changes for improvement in efficiency and effectiveness. Stays current on knowledge, practices and trends in the industry that directly affect the business. Must have strong business acumen and ability to work with diverse functions and build relationships. 

This position will require matrix supervision and evaluation of staff from other departments and divisions, including external contractual partnership and vendors. May have direct and indirect reports. Responsible for demonstrating the project focused culture and advises other staff regarding PM practices, methods and standards. Performs additional job functions as detailed by immediate supervisor. The candidate will be required to be onsite at Mayo Clinic in Rochester a minimum of two to three days per week and must live within driving distance of Rochester, MN. 

Bachelor's degree with 7 years of experience in project management and business related activities or Master's degree with 4 years of experience in project management related activities. Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification preferred but not required. Education preference: project management, business administration, management, consulting. 
 
Candidates should also include any certifications they have, which may include but are not necessarily limited to Certified Product Management, Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Advanced Certified Scrum Master (A-CSM), PMI Agile Certified Practitioner, and/or Certified Scrum Professional (CSP).
