Sr. Software Engineer - C++/ OpenGL

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Software Engineer to join our dynamic team in the development of innovative medical device applications. This role requires an expert in C++ and Linux who is passionate about designing and prototyping software solutions critical to the healthcare industry. The successful candidate will contribute to the entire software lifecycle from proof of concept through to production-ready solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• C++ Development: Design and implement robust C++ applications for medical devices in a Linux OS environment.
• UI Development: Build user interfaces using OpenGL for medical device applications.
• Software Prototyping & Design: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to conceptualize, prototype, design, and test application software in accordance with product requirements.
• Unit Testing & Debugging: Conduct unit tests and actively participate in troubleshooting and debugging to ensure the software meets quality standards and performance targets.
• Build System & Makefile Management: Oversee and improve build systems (including makefiles), identifying and resolving issues related to build performance, dependencies, and efficiency.
• Collaboration: Work closely with developers and the verification team to ensure the integration of functionalities and optimize performance.
• Code Reviews: Participate in peer code reviews to ensure software quality and compliance with coding standards.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure software development practices adhere to medical device industry standards and regulations.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• Experience: 10-14 years in full-cycle application software development, with at least 4 years specifically in the medical device or healthcare industry.
• C++ Expertise: Proficiency in C++ programming, with deep knowledge of object-oriented programming principles and design patterns.
• Linux OS: Extensive experience in Linux OS and developing applications within this environment.
• UI Development: Hands-on experience in OpenGL for developing graphical user interfaces.
• Build Systems: Advanced knowledge of makefiles and optimizing build processes in a Linux environment, including root cause analysis of build-related challenges.
• Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to perform root-cause analysis for software and build issues.
• Software Development Methodologies: Familiarity with Agile or Scrum methodologies.
• Medical Device Knowledge: Understanding of the regulatory landscape for medical devices (e.g., FDA regulations, ISO standards) is a plus.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Education:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
