If changing health care for the better sounds like something you want to be part of, apply today.At Banner, we are building our Culinary and Nutrition Services team with high performing, close knit and diverse group of individuals who take pride in providing our patients and staff with spectacular service. As a part of our Culinary team, as a Food Service Worker you will be responsible for providing service and assistance to patients, staff and other customers in accordance with established dietary and retail cafe policies and procedures.  Some of the additional duties as a Food Service Worker is the cleaning of the kitchen and dining room and dishwashing throughout your day.  You will be cross trained to many of the areas in the kitchen, including barista, cashier, tray line, dishwashing, and other back of the house and front of house duties, ensuring we keep up with the process flow.  You will assist with food prep, unbox foods and supplies, lifting and carrying boxes from storage and ensure shelves are restocked. Banner Ocotillo Medical Center is set to open fall of 2020, at this time, this position is due to start in November 2020.Shift: Hours may vary, but most would be from 10:45am to 7:30pm two days off during the week, also flexibility to work on weekends.Location: Banner Health Behavioral Health Hospital 7575 E Earll drive, Scottdale AZ 85251If you have food service background, enjoy providing premier customer service and consider yourself a true team player, then this might be the ideal fit for you! Banner Behavioral Health has 156 licensed inpatient beds and is located in Scottsdale, AZ. Our focus is on adults and adolescents dealing with mental health and/or chemical dependency issues who voluntarily seek help. POSITION SUMMARY
This position provides leadership of culinary service staff in assigned areas while working as a member of the culinary service team. Assures that all quality, regulatory, menu and customer service standards are continuously met in the course of the group’s daily work.

CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Independently and effectively leads and oversees daily service while working in various roles in Culinary Services. Uses good judgment to make appropriate decisions regarding daily work and staff needs. Appropriately communicates information to management as needed.

2. Maintains food handling and sanitation standards to meet licensing agency requirements. Reports potential violations and training needs to management.

3. Resolves customer problems and supports staff development in customer service skills. Trains others in work processes and the delivery of customer service.

4. Inventories food and supplies in assigned areas; determines ordering and food production quantities based upon established par levels and special needs. Works within budget and food cost guidelines. Resolves minor issues with vendors.

5. Prepares all food items as required by production forecasts and recipes.

6. Performs work in service areas and/or preparation areas at various work stations. Resolves minor problems with patient menus, trays and/or meal service.

7. Assists with cleaning and sanitation of equipment and work areas as needed. May provide training/direction/coordination of food services for catered events and perform billing reporting.

8. Participates in department meetings and training sessions.
