The Center for Community Health, which opened in February 2021 in the heart of Park Slope at our NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, will set a new bar in personalized outpatient care -- from diagnosis to treatment -- by integrating new technologies and innovative clinical approaches to provide the highest quality care and enhance the patient experience.
This 400,000 –square foot, multi-specialty ambulatory center encompasses a Comprehensive Cancer and Women’s Health Center, 12 ambulatory surgery operating rooms and Multispecialty physician practices.
In this role, the Patient Care Assistant will provide and maintain a safe, neat, and clean patient environment. You will ensure the maintenance of supplies, equipment, and patient care in accordance with established procedures to ensure smooth and ef
ficient patient flow. You will participate in patient care activities as a member of the nursing team and under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. You will be responsible for greeting patients, visitors, and employees in a courteous manner and mostly importantly, you will be the calm and reassuring presence they need. You will introduce yourself to the patient and explain the tasks to be performed in clear and concise manner and maintain ongoing awareness of patient needs when performing procedures which includes gentle positioning of patients, providing blankets for warmth, and modesty, and reassuring patients during their procedure.
This is a full time, evening shift position working 12PM-8PM located at NewYork-Presbyterian/Brooklyn Methodist Hospital at the Center of Community Health
Preferred Criteria
Experience as a Nurse’s Attendant or equivalent
Required Criteria
A High School Graduate or equivalent
One year experience as a Nursing Assistant, Surgical Support Attendant, Building Services or equivalent experience
Computer literacy
Demonstrates ability to communicate clearly with staff, patients, and visitors
Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
