Description
Under the supervision of the Accounting Manager, the Staff Accountant is responsible for general support for all parts of the Accounting Department, computing and preparing journal entries, financial statements, various tax reports, and other special projects as defined by the Accounting Manager.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Reconciles GL accounts, working to fully develop the monthly audit schedule procedures in preparation for year-end audit.
2. Assist with preparation, calculation, and filing of CA and NV sales tax returns.
3. Assists Accounting Manager with Annual Budget process and file creation.
4. Assists with annual financial audit.
5. Prepares and files IFTA reporting.
6. Manages capital expenditures and manages the fixed asset records, along with some fleet administrative management items.
7. Analyze company expenses, recommend reductions, and exercise controls to maximize company profits.
8. Performs internal audits.
9. Provides back up to Accounting Manager with generating, running, distributing Financial Statements monthly by the 15th and year-end forecast.
10. Records and deposits all miscellaneous cash.
11. Develops, reviews, understands, and updates Accounting’s Policies and Procedures manual.
12. Maintains confidence and protects financial operations by keeping information confidential.
13. Supports daily reconciliation of cash drawers, deposits, and bank activity.
14. Scanning, filing, and maintaining consistent records for the department.
15. Maintains a quality attendance and safety record.
16. Understands and follows all company policies and procedures.
17. Has a team player attitude.
18. Takes responsibility for own mistakes and errors.
19. Organizes and prioritizes the workload assignments independently.
20. Performs other duties as assigned.
21. Provides general support to A/P.
22. Provides general support to A/R.
Requirements
Education Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration
Experience 5 years in Accounting/AP/AR required.
~Microsoft Office experience required
~Great Plains, BisTrack, Management Reporter experience preferred.

Physical Must be able to pass the pre-placement physical designed for this position

Must possess a valid Driver’s License with clean driving record
Equipment Used: This position requires an employee to use computers, copy and fax machines, 10 key, scanner, phones and other equipment as assigned.
Essential Physical Tasks: This position require prolonged sitting and other physical demands.
