ABOUT THE POSITION

Columbia Sportswear’s dynamic global supply chain consists of 4 distribution centers, 430 retail stores, 80 apparel factories and 20 footwear factories worldwide and a diverse raw materials source base to support our consumer needs. We pride ourselves on being able to get products to market quickly, safely, and in the most cost-effective manner. By leveraging data analytics, we are constantly pushing to make smarter business decisions and identifying innovative ways to make Columbia Sportswear’s supply chain more efficient and effective to meet our consumers’ ever-changing needs.

The Sr. Global Sourcing Analyst will assist in the development of the global source direction for the Columbia Sportswear Company brands. Execute the seasonal source plan to meet the immediate capacity needs for all apparel, equipment, and accessories by placing the right product at the right factory for effective utilization and maximized profitability. Be the expert on designated sourcing regions and vendor base. Participate in solving sourcing problems associated with increased inventory turns, direct to consumer versus wholesale needs, and risk mitigation through creating agility. Partner with cross-functional teams to understand the company’s direction and in-season business needs.

HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

  • Execute the seasonal calendar and with adherence to deadlines, build and manage the seasonal source plan in PDM with consideration of vendor seasonal development and production capacity and capabilities
  • Influence source decisions based on market channel needs, risk mitigation opportunities, and inventory turn goals
  • Understanding of apparel costing, profitability and margin metrics of the Columbia Sportswear Company brands and be able to influence and partner with vendors to achieve desired results
  • Aid in building a 3-Year source strategy and provide reporting and data to support decision making
  • Lead and influence projects or issues that develop and impact sourcing, costing, production flow, development and other related manufacturing areas
  • Build awareness of regional material capabilities and resources. Explore ways to create leverage for the Columbia Sportswear brands and ensure alignment of apparel and material sourcing strategies
  • In collaboration with Liaison Offices gain an understanding of our suppliers’ capabilities. On an ongoing basis, create, analyze and monitor reports on the performance of the source base
  • Understand category’s in-season needs and monitor and resolve factory capacity constraints throughout the seasonal lifecycle
  • Understand global apparel trends, trade regulations, and company direction to maximize profitability and determine new source opportunities
  • Responsible for the creation and maintenance of tools to support reporting and data analytic needs
  • Collaborate with analytics functions around the organization including the Analytics COE, to maintain consistency and accuracy for CSC Analytics and staying abreast of new tools, algorithms, and methodologies that may be applicable to Sourcing Analytics

YOU ARE

  • Able to work well with individuals of different countries and cultures
  • Highly analytical with strong organizational skills
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and can work in an evolving environment
  • Able to deal with work and time pressures to accomplish job requirements in an efficient and effective manner

YOU HAVE

  • 5-7 years of experience in apparel or other soft goods sourcing, development, merchandising, production, or in a manufacturing environment
  • Highly skilled in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Pivot Tables and Power BI preferred
  • Knowledge of garment manufacturing including sourcing, costing, compliance logistics, distribution, and planning operations, as well as apparel materials and functional aspects of garments
  • Capabilities to provide risk mitigation solutions through increased supply chain agility
  • An understanding of sourcing methodologies
  • An understanding of global trade agree
