Department Summary
The Knight Campus for Accelerating Scientific Impact is a billion-dollar initiative designed to fast-track scientific discoveries and the process of turning those discoveries into innovations that improve the quality of life for people in Oregon, the nation and beyond. The Knight Campus will reshape the higher education landscape in Oregon by training the next generations of scientists, forging tighter ties with industry and entrepreneurs, and creating new educational opportunities for graduate and undergraduate students.
Position Summary
The Knight Campus seeks an office specialist 2 (OS2) who is a reliable, hardworking, self-driven, organized, and communicative individual to provide front desk coordination, building logistic support, and office administrative services to the Knight Campus community.
The OS2 will be responsible for a variety of office administrative support duties including front desk coordination, loading dock coordination, receiving and deliveries, and sorting and distributing mail. This position will be responsible for onsite event support, general event coordination, room scheduling, filing, reserved parking coordination, and managing distribution/contact lists. Additionally, this position will create professional publications and materials for events, reports, and signage for the building, as well as handle record processing including paying invoices, ordering supplies, and tracking purchases.
This position requires the highest level of customer service and professionalism, as well as the ability to exercise good judgment while executing day-to-day tasks independently. The OS2 will provide high-level communications to all levels of the Knight Campus and will interact regularly in person, via email, and by phone with people across the university, and with members of the general public.
This position reports to the Senior Manager of Events and Space Rentals and is an essential role in supporting the operations of the Knight Campus. This position works in person Monday through Friday from 9 am to 6 pm.
Minimum Requirements
• Two years of general clerical experience. One year of which included typing, word processing, or other generation of documents; OR
• An Associate’s degree in Office Occupations or Office Technology; OR
• Graduation from a private school of business with a Certificate in Office Occupations or Office Technology and one year of general clerical experience.

Preferred Qualifications
• One year of experience in reception or front office administration.
• One year of experience in data entry and record processing.
• Experience working in higher education or a research environment.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and other software programs including: HRIS/FIS platforms, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, and Google Docs.
