The Role:

We are currently seeking an School Social Worker who will support students at one of our partner schools in Lake Orion, MI. You'll be providing special education social work support for center-based programs and ASD classrooms. This position will be in one building. This is a wonderful school with tons of collaboration and opportunities to cotreat with other multidisciplinary staff members!

School Hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm

Responsibilities:

• Provide support to  special education students as mandated per student IEPs.
• Monitor progress IEP goals associated with mandated services through adequate participation in student IEP meetings.
• Provide group and individual counseling sessions to special education students by monitoring the students’ responses to the interventions identified.
• Conduct collaborative consultations with special education teachers to develop and monitor student responses to behavior intervention plans.
• Complete functional behavior assessments and communicate the results to all team members with appropriate supportive language for teachers, students and families.
• Facilitate educational and behavioral interventions recommended for student success through identifying community resources for students and make referrals to the appropriate resources.
• Additional duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Master’s Degree in Social Work
• Valid Social Work license issued in the state of Michigan
• School Social Work Certificate (SSW-310)
• Prior Special Education and IEP experience required
