JOB SUMMARY:
The successful candidate will be responsible for performing tests on ongoing new development and legacy software. Experience with a variety of automated testing tools as well as manual testing techniques. Strong skills in reporting and documentation for testing summaries and procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and should demonstrate the following competencies to consistently perform the essential functions of this position. All employees are expected to adhere to and be knowledgeable of Satcom Direct (SD) operations standards, established security/safety rules and requirements for attendance. The requirements listed below are representative of the fundamental knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to perform the job successfully:
- Ability to work in a group with fast paced development teams and transitional project priorities
- Design and execute test plans (Automated and Manual) on Web and Windows based applications
- Develop Regression Test Suite for new and legacy systems
- Participate in design and planning meetings
- Help the team implement best practices for code and testing
- Use JIRA to track issues and create work items
- Generate build procedures to run automated tests as part of a continuous deployment process
- Participate in team code reviews
- Identify test requirement from specifications
- Identify any potential quality issues per defined process and escalate potential quality issues
- Ensure that validated deliverables meet functional and design specifications and requirements
- Testing the solution in terms of functionality, performance, reliability, stability, and compatibility with other legacy and/or external systems
- Other duties may be assigned.
GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILLS:
- Be able to identify deficiencies in the code and suggest improvements
- Experience testing Windows Services, Web Services, WCF, ASP, .NET, Web API
- Experience working with an Agile/Scrum team highly desired
- Excellent Analytical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Experience testing C#, .NET, XML, JSON, and SQL
- Angular and Azure DevOps experience is a plus
- Ability to understand and create test plans from specifications or verbal communications
- Liaison with development, project management, and customer support
- Candidates must successfully complete a background check and drug test
- Experience with QA Automation tools and best practices preferred
- Experience in aviation is a plus
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor of Science degree in a related discipline preferred
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing general office duties for this position, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand and/or walk around (including the use of stairs). Other demands include the ability to openly communicate with others by talking, listening and reading, able to lift light objects (<25lbs), and use standard office equipment such as computer, printer, phone and cell phone.
