What will you do?
The Medical Office Administrator main purpose is to serve as the medical office clerk, who provides clerical/administrative support in wards, clinics, or other medical treatment departments.
- Welcomes and greets patients, visitors in person and answers inquiries over the phone.
- Optimizes patients' satisfaction and provider time by scheduling appointments in person or by telephone.
- Keeps patient appointments on schedule by notifying provider of patient's arrival; reviewing service delivery compared to schedule; reminding provider of service delays.
- Comforts patients by anticipating patients' concerns; answering patients' questions; maintaining the reception area.
- Facilitates communication between physicians and patients.
- Assists with calling in refills of medications.
- Ensures availability of treatment information by filing and retrieving patient records.
- Maintains patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information.
- Obtains revenue by recording and updating financial information; recording and collecting patient charges; controlling credit extended to patients; filing, collecting, and expediting third-party claims.
- Maintains business office inventory and equipment by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies; scheduling equipment service and repairs.
- Protects patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information.
- Maintains operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
What qualifications do you need?
· Completion of HS diploma or equivalent
· 1 year of experience working in a medical setting (preferred)
· Experience working with an Electronic Health Record (preferred)
· Must be at least 18 years of age.
· Must be able to pass federal and state background verifications.
· Knowledge of medial terms, codes, laws, ethics, practice, and malpractice specialties.
· Analytical Skills
· Detailed orientated precision and technical skills.
· Excellent interpersonal skills.

Pay Rate?
$30,000 – $38,000/yr.
