About the role

This WGVU senior leadership position will lead revenue development strategy for all areas of individual, corporate, and foundation giving and grants for WGVU Public Media.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • Provide leadership, supervision, and mentorship to development team and student workers.
  • Develop strategies and set departmental objectives to reach station fundraising goals in Membership, Grants, Major and Mid-Level, Corporate, and Foundation giving and overall strategic plan.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key community constituents. Develop and manage department budget and reports.
  • Explore and develop new revenue opportunities.
  • Work collaboratively with other departments across the station to ensure proper levels of support for fundraising efforts.
  • Manage major and planned giving program to ensure revenue growth.
  • Work with Marketing and Promotions Department to build a promotional schedule to support development efforts and work with the cross-functional team to ensure that station fundraising priorities are being met.
  • Serve as member of the WGVU senior leadership team, responsible for helping to set the mission, vision, and values for WGVU Public Media.
  • Perform other duties as required/assigned by leadership.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field.
  • Minimum of eight to ten (8-10) years of fundraising experience.
  • Two (2) years of experience managing and supervising teams in related field.
  • Ability to manage and maintain assigned budgets and reports.
  • Familiarity with Public Media.
  • Experience soliciting major gifts from individuals, corporations, and foundations.
  • Experience with various computer software applications (Microsoft Office, Outlook, Teams, etc.).
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. 
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work within a collaborative multiplatform culture and environment.
  • Ability to demonstrate professionalism, punctuality, and work self-sufficiently with little direction when required.
  • Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule, including some nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to work on location as needed.

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Master’s degree in business, non-profit, or related field.
  • Knowledge of Allegiance Fundraising CRM and/or Raisers Edge NXT.
  • Experience in Public Media.

Salary & Benefits: Minimum starting salary of $95,000; commensurate with experience
