The Opportunity

As an Electrical Technician Designer Intern at Black & Veatch, you will help address some of the world's most pressing infrastructure challenges. You will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects to meet our clients' needs and contribute to the growth and success of Black & Veatch.

Responsibilities

• Design and draft electrical schematics, equipment, layouts, panel boards, ductbanks, raceways, and groundings
• Utilize drafting and modeling software such as AutoCad 2000i 3-D .
• Meet budget and scheduling restraints

Preferred Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Drafting or an engineering Design Related Technology preferred.
• Working knowledge of Computer-Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) software or similar applications for design and modeling.
• Basic understanding of engineering standards, systems, document control procedures.
• Knowledge of industry trends, technology advancements, and adherence to computer quality programs.
• Skilled in Problem Solving, Written Communication, Informing, and Peer Relationships.

Minimum Qualifications

Current enrollment in a 2 or 4 year Engineering Technology program. No experience required. All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.

Work Environment

Professionals located near a Black & Veatch office have the option of a hybrid work model that offers a balance between working together in person and the flexibility of remote work. Our hybrid work model means you will work three days in the office and two days from another location.
