About the role

Job Description

The Department of Resident Services, Partnerships and Initiatives engages NYCHA residents in critical programs, services, and initiatives in the areas of economic opportunity, youth, senior and social services; supports NYCHA’s extensive network of Resident Associations; and connects residents to opportunities such as financial empowerment, business development, career advancement, and educational programs.

The Resident Participation & Civic Engagement Services (RPCES) Department engages residents across all NYCHA Neighborhoods, empowers NYCHA residents to participate in decision-making processes, and ensure residents' needs and concerns are integrated into NYCHA's transformation plan. The department focuses on five key areas: Conducting Resident Association Elections, Implementing Programs, Administering Tenant Participation Activity (TPA) Funds, Support NYCHA Initiatives and Projects, and Engaging Resident Leadership Groups.

NYCHA seeks a dynamic and service-oriented individual with a passion for service to join its RPCES team. Reporting to and under general direction of the Senior Manager for Budget and Compliance, responsibilities of the TPA Analyst will include, but are not limited to the following:

1. Oversee tenant participation activities for NYCHA developments.
2. Meet regularly with Resident Associations to assist with Tenant Participation Activity (TPA) related matters.
3. Track, report, upload and approve Resident Association transactions on Smartdata by Mastercard.
4. Communicate regularly with Neighborhood Service Coordinators (NSC) and Resident Associations regarding Tenant Participation Activity (TPA) related matters.
5. Provide Smartdata and Tenant Participation Activity (TPA) training to Resident Associations quarterly.
6. Direct Resident Associations to resources available on NYCHA’s website.
7. Ensure that Resident Associations are complying with the practices and standards of the HUD (Housing and Urban Development) 964.150 Funding Tenant Participation.
8. Perform other duties, as needed, incidental to above.

Qualifications

1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
2. High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in "1" above.
