What You’ll Be Doing

As the Senior Manager, Sanction Operations you will lead a dynamic operations team to help protect our clients, internal business partners, and correspondent banks by managing first level payment screening. You’ll be responsible for L1 sanctions review for wires (SWIFT and non-SWIFT), as well as being accountable for payment exception transaction monitoring and processing. The team is responsible for managing liquidity with LYNX and working closely with our internal partners in accordance with Vostro account daylight and overdrafts limits. There is a lot of positive change in the wire payments space and this role plays a critical role in ensuring minimal risk to the bank as we navigate through the next few years.

How You’ll Succeed

  • Strong Leadership skills – You will lead the team by leveraging and building upon a toolset focused on capacity, process, and workflow management. You will work to continuously improve operational productivity and efficiency while minimizing errors and losses.

  • SWIFT Payment knowledge – You will apply your knowledge of SWIFT standards to show the team how to resolve complex wire payment investigations. You will build and maintain strong relationships with our correspondent banks and internal business partners to ensure timely resolution of files.

  • Client Focused – Working with our business partners and stakeholders, you will focus tirelessly on achieving the best possible results for our clients. This includes short term results for immediate needs and more strategic improvements for long-term benefit across all processes.

  • Managing risks and eliminating errors – You will review our existing processes with vigilance and seek to minimize or eliminate the possibility of human or technological error. You will play an active role in identifying improvements with technology, business controls, and end-to-end business processes. You will hold your team to a high standard to ensure risk management remains engrained in the team’s culture.
