Job Description Summary
The Employer Relations Coordinator is an integral part of the Employer Relations Outreach team, focused on enhancing organizational effectiveness. This role encompasses a wide range of administrative, logistical, and system-oriented responsibilities to support employer engagement and student recruiting efforts. Key functions include providing general administrative support to staff and leadership, assisting with the planning and execution of on-campus recruiting activities and employer events, managing critical administrative tasks within the Handshake system, and supporting the sourcing of job and internship opportunities. The coordinator also assists with special projects and events as needed.Job Description
Essential Functions:
- General Administrative Support (30%)
- Greeting visitors and direct them appropriately.
- Perform data entry and maintain accurate records and databases.
- Assist with preparing and editing documents, reports, and presentations.
- Provide general administrative support to the Employer Relations Outreach team.
- Assist with special projects and events as required.
- Event and Logistical Support (30%)
- Assist in the full life cycle of the on-campus recruiting process, which facilitates thousands of students interviews annually.
- Aide in the logistical and operational production of employer relations events and activities (career fairs, information sessions, interview days, etc.).
- Handshake System Administration (30%)
- Review and approve new employer requests within Handshake.
- Review and approve or decline pending job approvals to ensure the Handshake system queue is cleared on a daily basis (600-1,200 daily).
- Job/Internship Sourcing (10%)
- Under the guidance of the Employer Outreach Managers, research and source new job and internship opportunities.
- Post opportunities in Handshake on a weekly basis.
Other Functions:
- Other duties as assigned to support the Employer Relations and OPCD/MRE team achieve its goals.
Required Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree or higher preferred.
- Proven experience as an office assistant or in another relevant administrative role.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Friendly and professional demeanor.
Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Prior private sector experience in a business setting (i.e. technology platform, customer relationship management system, data)
- Professional industry organization involvement, expertise or certification (i.e. NCACE)
- Handshake knowledge and experience
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Other related software expertise
